"The issue of equity in education is one of the most important matters facing higher education institutions today, and a key part of our focus on improving outcomes and affordability," said Scott Virkler, McGraw-Hill Higher Education's Chief Product and Operations Officer. "We believe there is untapped potential to help instructors lift achievement across enormous populations of underserved students through new ways of teaching, pedagogical approaches and technology. McGraw-Hill is committed to facilitating more dialogue around this important topic, so we're very excited that Professor Stokes is leading our next professional development event."

Dr. Stokes is an educator with 17 years of transformational leadership in student affairs, academic affairs and the classroom at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. Her roles included Dean of Enrollment Management, Dean of Student and Academic Success, Department Chair of Social Sciences and Assistant Professor in Foundational Studies, which offers first-year experience classes.

"The most important moment in a student's educational journey is found at the crossroad where purpose, passion and persistence meet. This is the catalyst for college success," said Professor Stokes.
