The McGraw-Hill Companies Appoints Brian Kibby President of the Higher Education Group
Appointment reflects company's ongoing focus on digital innovation

NEW YORK, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP) announced today that Brian Kibby was appointed president of the Higher Education group. Mr. Kibby will succeed Ed Stanford who has led the group for more than a decade and successfully expanded the group's digital products and services.

Mr. Kibby will be responsible for continuing McGraw-Hill Higher Education's development of market-leading digital tools, platforms and services. Over the last three years, McGraw-Hill Higher Education has launched a range of innovative digital offerings, which have become a hallmark of the company, including McGraw-Hill Connect, an all-digital course management platform, and McGraw-Hill LearnSmart, the first adaptive learning tool from a publisher.
Mr. Kibby joins McGraw-Hill from Pearson Education where he was senior vice president of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, leading a business that experienced consistent increased top-line and bottom-line growth, while overseeing the launch of the most successful series of products in the company's history.
Mr. Kibby has a longstanding relationship with McGraw-Hill Education, beginning his publishing career as an account executive in 1991 and later serving as president and general manager of McGraw-Hill Education in Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Kibby holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Western Illinois University.
