McGraw-Hill Education is a three-time award finalist for the annual Association of Educational Publishers' (AEP) Awards program, recognizing excellence in educational products and education marketing.
Two curricula are finalists for the Distinguished Achievement Award recognizing the year's top educational products. They include Wright Group/McGraw-Hill's Wright Group Early Reading Intervention in the ESL/ELL Instruction category and SRA/McGraw-Hill's SRA Snapshots Simply Science in the Science category.
Wright Group Early Reading Intervention is the result of 30 years of research conducted by educators who found that the most effective way to close the gap between struggling and proficient readers is to provide systematic, strategic, and intensive intervention. Designed for Grades K-3, it focuses on acceleration, with the sole purpose of moving students to grade-level reading as quickly as possible.
SRA Snapshots Simply Science is a multimedia-based program designed to introduce science to students in Grades 1 and 2, merging picture books, science facts, and technology to make learning science more accessible to children by tapping into their vivid imaginations.
In addition, SRA/McGraw-Hill's Web site for its Pre-K-6 reading and language arts program -- ImagineItReading.com -- is a finalist for the prestigious Beacon Award, which according to AEP, "shines the spotlight on the crucial but often under-appreciated field of education marketing."
Winners will be announced June 12, 2009. For more information, visit AEPweb.org.
"Being recognized by our peers is an outstanding honor," said Dan Caton, president of SRA and Wright Group/McGraw-Hill and vice president of the AEP board of directors. "I congratulate the dedicated staff who have worked so hard to provide the best in instructional materials."
SRA Snapshots Simply Science and Wright Group Early Reading Intervention are both designed to fit within the Response-to-Intervention model and may be purchased with Federal funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
