To support struggling students enrolled in Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2 courses, Glencoe/McGraw-Hill has developed a new Response to Intervention (RtI) Tier 3 math series, Math Triumphs.

Designed to support students needing the most intensive intervention, Math Triumphs: Foundations for Algebra 1, Math Triumphs: Foundations for Geometry, and Math Triumphs: Foundation for Algebra 2 help build mastery of the foundational skills and concepts from prior grades that are prerequisites to the current grade level.

The research-based series has a similar format to Macmillan/McGraw-Hill's Math Triumphs Grades K-5 and Glencoe's Math Triumphs Grades 6-8 providing school districts with a Grades K-12 intervention solution. All Math Triumphs programs share common authors and the same effective instructional model and lesson design.

Art Block, senior vice president and publisher for mathematics and science for McGraw-Hill School Solutions Group, which includes Macmillan/McGraw-Hill and Glencoe, says the Math Triumphs series is an ideal accompaniment to the publishers' vertically aligned basal math programs, Math Connects K-8 and Glencoe Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.

"The Math Triumphs series focuses on building a strong foundation with step-by-step instruction to help students master every skill," said Block. "With the expansion of the Math Triumphs series through Algebra 2, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill and Glencoe now offer a comprehensive math intervention program for students in Grades K-12."

For each lesson in Math Triumphs, the teacher explains and models the skill and then leads students in guided application. Uniquely scaffolded practice problems provide support by breaking down each skill into the simplest understanding.

Ongoing assessments throughout Math Triumphs help teachers identify student needs and point to targeted resources for differentiating instruction for each student.
