McGraw-Hill Higher Education, a leading provider of electronic and print learning materials, and ALEKS Corporation, a leader in the creation of Web-based artificially intelligent educational software, today announced the release of a new Instructor Module designed to simplify administrative tasks and make the ALEKS educational software system even more powerful and user friendly.

The new Instructor Module features enhanced functionality and a streamlined interface, based on research conducted with instructors using ALEKS and other popular math e-Homework systems. The Instructor Module boasts numerous new features, including gradebook, course calendar, and e-Homework capabilities. Paired with powerful assignment-driven features, textbook integration, and extensive content flexibility, ALEKS provides a comprehensive course management solution while saving instructor time.

Institutional case studies have shown that ALEKS has improved pass rates by more than 20 percent versus traditional online homework systems, and by more than 30 percent compared to using a text alone. "It is critical to McGraw-Hill Higher Education that we continually bring solutions to classrooms, which enhance teaching and learning," said Kurt Strand, president of McGraw-Hill Higher Education's Science, Engineering and Mathematics group. "With the new ALEKS Instructor Module, we are able to offer a course-management solution that gives instructors the ability to place even greater focus on student achievement."

"User feedback is critical to our success, so we assess every aspect of the ALEKS experience, understand how instructors and students use the program, and make improvements based on those needs," said Wil Lampros, president of ALEKS Corporation. "The new Instructor Module delivers the enhanced benefits that our users requested, including new gradebook, course calendar, and e-Homework features."

The new Instructor Module is offered with ALEKS higher education mathematics courses in a range of subjects from Basic Math to Precalculus, and is available through McGraw-Hill Higher Education.
