McGraw-Hill Professional and American College of Emergency Physicians Roll Out CME Functionality On AccessEmergency Medicine

McGraw-Hill Professional, a leading global provider of information resources for the scientific and medical communities, has partnered with American College of Emergency Physicians, the largest membership organization for emergency physicians, to launch Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for learning modules on AccessEmergency Medicine (http://www.accessemergencymedicine.com/). Now physicians can earn AMA PRA Category 1 credits™ for watching procedural videos, reading associated materials, and answering a few key questions about the procedures. The modules are designed to provide busy emergency physicians and other health professionals working in emergency departments with readily accessible, educational, and efficient opportunities to earn CME credits.

Once AccessEmergency Medicine subscribers have logged on to their personal profiles, they can complete CME activities after watching videos or animations and reading accompanying chapters from leading references such as Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide. Users can pause and resume activities at any time, download and print CME certificates, and track their overall CME activities completed within the website. Ten CME modules are currently available on AccessEmergency Medicine with 10 more scheduled to launch in early 2009.

Physicians can also purchase 24- or 48- hour subscriptions to AccessEmergency Medicine to take advantage of the CME opportunities.
