Macmillan/McGraw-Hill and Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, leading publishers of print and digital educational materials, have created an informational website for their elementary and secondary reading and language arts programs California Treasures and Glencoe Literature: California Treasures.
The Web site, www.califtreasures.com , provides a comprehensive collection of information for both elementary and secondary educators and district administrators. Included on the site are program videos showing the programs in use in classrooms and technology tours - all providing overviews of each program and accompanying integrated digital resources.
"We invite all California educators to visit the site to get an overview of these excellent programs," said Betty Gage, senior vice president and director of marketing for Macmillan/McGraw-Hill and Glencoe/McGraw-Hill.
Throughout the Web site, teachers and administrators have access to a collection of white papers by some of the nation's leading educators and well-known academic authors, who contributed to the development of these all-new programs.
Both sites focus on key topics important to California schools, such as differentiated instruction, English language development, effective writing support, assessment, and classroom management. To support these topics, engaging, informational resources are provided in "click through" formats.
California Treasures for Grades K-6 is a comprehensive reading and language arts program that includes differentiated instruction, an English language development program, research based writing support, and unique classroom management resources.
Glencoe Literature: California Treasures for Grades 6-12 is customized to both California's language arts content and English language development standards. Literary, reading, and writing instruction is informed by ongoing assessment of each student's strengths and needs to meet California standards.
The California Treasures site will continue to expand over the next few months as new site features and informational materials are added. This site was developed to be a one-stop place for important information surrounding the California reading and literature adoption. For more information, visit www.califtreasures.com .
