Glencoe Literature's Expressions Helps Build English Language Learners' Language Acquisition Skills

Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, the leading provider of print and digital educational materials for middle and secondary students, is helping ELL students build English language acquisition and skills through its supplemental literacy tool, Expressions.

Expressions is a component of Glencoe Literature, a comprehensive collection of exceptional literature and engaging nonfiction with integrated skill development and targeted differentiated instruction for Grades 6-8.

Assisting teachers with differentiated instruction, Expressions includes on-level versions of Glencoe Literature selections and a variety of accessible, authentic literature. Themes and accompanying skill instruction parallel the core literature program. This allows teachers to easily move from Expressions to the core program, and helps English language learners learn grade-appropriate skills and follow along with whole class instruction. The program also offers additional reading support, vocabulary and skills practice as well as progress monitoring for teachers.
