The majority of school districts in Florida, the fourth most populous state in the U.S., overwhelmingly chose McGraw-Hill Education's reading programs. McGraw-Hill School Education Group's estimated market share* for core basal Grades K-6 programs is 70 percent.

"We were looking for a reading program that fully met Florida standards, offered strong support materials and training for our teachers, and engaged students especially through its digital offerings," said Jo Marie Olk, reading coordinator of Florida's Leon County Schools. "We needed a program that would continue to help us close the achievement gap for our students so that they would be productive citizens in the future."

The reading programs selected in Florida are Macmillan/McGraw-Hill's Treasures, a research-based elementary reading and language arts program for Grades K-6, and SRA/McGraw-Hill's Imagine It!, a research-based reading and language arts program for Grades PreK-6.

The supplemental reading intervention programs selected in Florida include SRA/McGraw-Hill's Corrective Reading and Reading Mastery programs, part of the Direct Instruction family of programs, designed around a research-proven intensive instructional method; Kaleidoscope, a reading and language arts intervention program for Grades K-8, and Macmillan/McGraw-Hill's Reading Triumphs, a research-based intervention program designed for K-6 students reading two or more years below grade level.

"Our programs are designed to help students develop the literacy skills they need to succeed in elementary school, high school, college, and well beyond," said William Oldsey, president of McGraw-Hill School Education Group. "Our tremendous achievement in the Florida reading adoption is a testament to the strength of our educational programs and the success of our strategy - to offer the broadest range of programs so that educators can choose the one that best fits the needs of their students."

McGraw-Hill School Education Group, which includes Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, SRA/McGraw-Hill, and Wright Group/McGraw-Hill, strives to offer a diverse line of effective programs to meet the needs of schools and districts nationwide.
