As part of an ongoing effort to promote public support of the teaching profession, McGraw-Hill Higher Education will feature the TeachersCount "Behind Every Famous Person Is a Fabulous Teacher" campaign in four of its textbooks.

The "Behind Every Famous Person Is a Fabulous Teacher" campaign features well-known individuals with their favorite teachers. Among the notable "students" are actors America Ferrera and Tony Shalhoub, recording artist Chris Bridges (Ludacris), and American Express chairman and CEO Ken Chenault. The series was featured throughout the 'Time Inc.' family of magazines.

Starting this summer, McGraw-Hill Higher Education will include the image of America Ferrera and her favorite teacher on the back covers of 'School and Society' by Steven Tozer and Guy Senese and 'Teachers, Schools, and Society' by David Sadker and Karen Zittleman. Both are introductory textbooks for the first teacher education course in which students learn about the foundations of the American educational system, its history, and the nature of the teaching profession.

The campaign images will also appear on 'Educational Psychology' by John Santrock, a leading text that covers basic psychological principles affecting teaching and learning, 'Learning to Teach' by Richard Arends, which provides comprehensive coverage of general teaching methods and models, and 'School Leadership and Administration' by Richard Gorton and Judy Alston designed for principals, administrators, and supervisors.

"McGraw-Hill Higher Education fully supports teachers on the job everywhere -- whether they be college professors or future K-12 educators," said Steve Debow, president of McGraw-Hill Higher Education's Humanities, Social Sciences and World Languages Group. "Featuring the inspirational campaign from TeachersCount on our textbooks is our way of showing our continued commitment to the people who make a difference in this noble profession."

Last spring, McGraw-Hill Education also partnered with TeachersCount to distribute nearly a quarter of a million of the campaign's posters to school districts across the country.
