Elementary educational publisher SRA/McGraw-Hill is introducing a new blog to give educators a first-hand look at the International Reading Association's (IRA) Annual Convention. The blog can be found at http://blog.sraonline.com/, which launched April 28.

The primary writer of the SRA blog is Amy Tillinghast, SRA's Creative Director. Tillinghast has been in the educational publishing industry for nearly 10 years. In this position, she often hears from teachers who share their classroom success stories and best practices.

To celebrate teachers making the difference, the SRA blog aims to pass along the best stories the publisher hears and provide an insider's perspective on reading and language arts issues.

The SRA blog will be updated daily between April 28 and May 9 with entries about visits with other teachers -- from its Teacher Ambassadors to the annual Pride of SRA Academic Recognition Award winners, best practices, and comments from participants of the IRA conference. IRA, scheduled May 4-8 in Atlanta, GA, is an annual convention where thousands of teachers and reading experts gather to share best practices and the latest trends in literacy instruction.

"I've been so lucky to have been witness to some truly inspirational stories from teachers around the country using SRA's programs," said Tillinghast. "Seeing first-hand the way our programs can positively impact students' lives makes me proud to do what I do. We want to make sure others have access to these great stories through the SRA blog."
