SRA/McGraw-Hill Expands Number Worlds, Math Intervention Tool, to Middle School

Middle school students who struggle in math can catch up to peers in just four weeks with SRA/McGraw- Hill's Number Worlds®, a research-based mathematics intervention program that has been expanded from Grades Pre-K-6 to include Grades 7-8.

About 31% of U.S. Grade 8 students scored below basic on the 2005 National Assessment of Educational Progress, showing a large need for intervention.

Designed for students performing one to two years behind grade level who have not responded to reteaching efforts, Number Worlds fully engages older students. Instead of a predictable pattern of activity, Number Worlds uses a variety of instructional techniques to hold students' attention, including guided discussion, hands-on activities, response activities, and computer activities.
