McGraw-Hill Higher Education, a premier provider of print and digital teaching and learning solutions for the post- secondary and higher education markets, and Respondus Inc., a leading provider of assessment tools for learning management systems in higher education, have entered into an alliance that will make hundreds of McGraw-Hill test banks available in Respondus format at thousands of colleges and universities around the world.

McGraw-Hill Higher Education, which currently distributes test banks in the EZ Test format, will additionally make test banks available from the Respondus Test Bank Network, a platform that allows faculty to download test banks with their Respondus 3.5 and StudyMate 2.0 applications.

"Instructors at thousands of institutions will benefit from this alliance," said David Smetters, president of Respondus. "We receive requests almost daily from faculty who want McGraw-Hill Higher Education test banks in Respondus format." Jeremy Singer, president of McGraw-Hill Higher Education's digital group, added, "Our new relationship with Respondus reflects McGraw- Hill's commitment to offer faculty the greatest level of flexibility for online assessments and e-learning."

Respondus 3.5 is an exam authoring and management application. Assessments can be printed to paper or published directly to course management systems distributed by Blackboard, ANGEL, eCollege, and other e-learning vendors. The alliance will also allow faculty who use StudyMate 2.0 to create Flash-based learning activities and games from McGraw-Hill's test bank files.

McGraw-Hill Higher Education has released an initial set of Respondus- formatted test banks, including: McConnell-Brue, Economics 17/e; Nickels et al, Understanding Business 8/e; Wild et al, Fundamental Accounting Principles 18/e; Perreault, Basic Marketing 16/e; Block & Hirt, Foundations of Financial Management 12/e; and Ross, Corporate Finance 8/e. Additional textbook test banks will be added to the Respondus Test Bank Network throughout 2007.
