McGraw-Hill Professional, a leading global provider of information resources for the scientific and medical communities, today announced free beta access to its new Harrison's Practice, a clinical tool which provides answers on demand at the point-of-care. The free beta access ends June 16, 2006 and users can sign up at HarrisonsPractice.com.
With all-new content written by the same team of expert physicians who developed the market-leading Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine medical reference, Harrison's Practice saves medical professionals time with an innovative format. As a result, users can scan information quickly to find either brief answers or more in depth information to deliver optimal patient care. In seconds, specific guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of the most common medical conditions are available on the desktop, PDA, or via wireless devices like the BlackberryTM or TreoTM.
"For physicians and health professionals overwhelmed by heavy patient loads and the array of resources that offer clinical solutions of variable quality, Harrison's Practice provides the answers they need from a source they can trust with the speed and mobility that meets the urgency of real-world clinical practice," said Michael Hays, vice president of McGraw-Hill Professional's Digital group.
Harrison's Practice includes fully integrated access to Clinical Pharmacology® from Gold Standard Media with detailed information on more than 51,000 brand name and generic drugs including pill photos, and patient handouts in Spanish and English. In addition, hyperlinks throughout Harrison's Practice enable quick access to the primary literature via PubMed.
McGraw-Hill Professional developed Harrison's Practice in collaboration with Unbound Medicine, a leader in knowledge management solutions for healthcare. Unbound Medicine provided product development expertise and created the underlying Web, PDA and wireless platforms for Harrison's Practice.
During the beta period, which ends June 16th, users will have access to Harrison's Practice on the web. On June 28th, Harrison's Practice will be available for individual and institutional subscriptions and include web, wireless, and PDA access.
