Hendrik J. Kranenburg Appointed Group President of McGraw-Hill Higher Education, Professional and International

McGraw-Hill Education, a leading global provider of educational materials and professional information and part of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP), today announced the appointment of Hendrik J. Kranenburg as group president of its Higher Education, Professional and International publishing business.

Mr. Kranenburg formerly served as a senior executive within Standard & Poor's, also a business unit of The McGraw-Hill Companies, and he brings more than 25 years of global business and leadership expertise to his new position. Since 1999, he has served as executive vice president of Standard & Poor's Investment Services. Under his leadership, Standard & Poor's has enhanced its capabilities in index and portfolio services, equity research, and data and information services.

Mr. Kranenburg joined Standard & Poor's in 1980 and has a strong record of accomplishment. He led the global expansion of Standard & Poor's, personally establishing its first international office in London in 1984 and then building the business through acquisitions, joint ventures and affiliations. Standard & Poor's today has employees located in 21 countries.

Mr. Kranenburg, 50, earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley and has a master's degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
