McGraw-Hill Professional to Publish Pearls of Wisdom Medical Review Book Series

McGraw-Hill Professional announced today that it will publish Pearls of Wisdom, a 36-title series of review books for the medical and nursing community. Previously published by Boston Medical Publishing of Lincoln, NE, the series covers a range of subjects including clinical medicine, nursing, and allied health. These study guides prepare medical students, residents, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for board, recertification, and licensing examinations. McGraw-Hill will publish the series in August 2005. The Pearls of Wisdom books will join acclaimed series such as First Aid, Appleton & Lange Review Books, and PreTest, which have made McGraw-Hill Professional the industry leader in medical exam preparation and review guides.

The Pearls of Wisdom series uses a unique format to distill key facts that are essential for exam success. The texts are written in rapid-fire, question-and-single-answer format to help professionals and students improve their knowledge and skills for their respective exams. Questions often contain a "pearl" -- a concise, medical tip -- reinforced in association with the question. Additional hooks are often attached to the answers in various forms, including mnemonics, evoked visual imagery, repetition and humor to enhance ease of reading and rate of learning.
