Whether you're the secondary school math teacher who is emphasizing the value of homework, the student who struggles with the assignment or the parent who tries to lend a hand, help is on the way. It's being offered through a special arrangement between Glencoe/McGraw- Hill, the nation's number one secondary school math publisher, and Hotmath, a research-based web service that helps students in grades 6 through 12 solve math homework problems.

Beginning in November 2004, each time a Glencoe Mathematics program is purchased by a school district, all of the students who are enrolled in that program in grades 6 to 12 will be eligible to receive free access to Hotmath's subscription-based website during the 2005-2006 school year. Glencoe's Mathematics program provides everything students need to become more confident, competent problem solvers. And the program is formatted in a way that decreases preparation time, increases teaching time and prepares students for testing success. Hotmath will deliver online teacher-created tutorials for the selected homework problems in the Glencoe Mathematics program.

"With the speed of today's advancements in technology, science, engineering and related fields, a strong math education has never been more critical," explains Glencoe president Steve McClung. "And to grasp mathematical principles, students need to learn how to solve problems through homework assignments. Glencoe's alliance with Hotmath provides the homework support students need, especially those who may be underachieving."

"Hotmath is proud to join forces with Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, a leader in secondary education," notes Hotmath president Chuck Grant, Ph.D. "Together, we are providing a true value proposition for the educational community -- a Glencoe math program supported by proven research with a Hotmath service assuring that students have homework help 24/7."
