Subscribers to McGraw-Hill's Harrison's Online now can earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits by listening to Harrison's Grand Rounds audio lectures and passing a quiz based on the content located at www.HarrisonsOnline.com. While Harrison's Online has been providing expert commentary from world-renowned physicians for years, this is the first time that the information has been directly connected to a continuing medical education component.
"This is a unique opportunity for Harrison's Online subscribers to listen, learn, be tested, and earn continuing education credits," said Jack Farrell, vice president and publisher of Online and Digital Products for McGraw-Hill Medical. "The procedure is for users to listen to the lecture, print out a quiz, and answer the evaluation questions. They turn in an evaluation form and, should they achieve a passing score, they will receive a certificate for category 1 CME credit via e-mail."
This CME activity was planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education in joint sponsorship with the Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association and McGraw-Hill.
Updated daily, Harrison's Online combines the speed and functionality of the Internet with the unrivaled authority of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, the most widely used resource in clinical medicine and research. The Harrison's name is synonymous with internal medicine. From the latest research findings to up-to-the-minute advances in diagnostic and treatment methodologies, Harrison's puts the facts medical professionals need at their fingertips. Harrison's Grand Rounds showcase the world's foremost medical specialists, who provide a 20- to 30- minute narrated Powerpoint lecture on a topic of high importance for busy practitioners.
