Glencoe/McGraw-Hill Announces the Addition of a NEW Interactive Tutor to TechCONNECT

Glencoe/McGraw-Hill today announced that an Interactive Tutor component has been added to TechCONNECT, the innovative online solution that integrates computer technology into middle school curriculum. With TechCONNECT Interactive Tutor, teachers get step-by-step guidance for using TechCONNECT in the classroom.

The popular TechCONNECT online learning solution helps students learn six application suites from Microsoft® Office, Microsoft® Works, and AppleWorks® through online activities integrated into in the core content subjects of language arts, social studies, mathematics and science. Computer training activities are specifically correlated to textbooks from Glencoe, and other major publishers.

TechCONNECT Interactive Tutor provides teachers with step-by-step instructions, and "show me" demonstrations to help them maximize the way student's use TechCONNECT in the classroom. TechCONNECT also provides teachers with professional development support in many formats, including online teacher resources that help them integrate technology into each subject area.

TechCONNECT has been used to improve student computer skills at Michigan Virtual High School, which serves more than 8,000 students throughout the state of Michigan.

"TechCONNECT gives teachers a ready-made classroom solution that prepares students to use computers in their everyday lives, without requiring the teacher to become a computer software expert," said Barbara Fardell, manager of teacher training and development for Michigan Virtual High School. TechCONNECT is part of a K-8 computer skills solution offered by McGraw-Hill Education. In addition to Glencoe's TechCONNECT for Grades 6-8, SRA/McGraw-Hill offers TechKnowledge, aimed at preschool to Grade 6 students.
