Federal Department Chooses Online Assessment Program Online Product Gains Adoption in Texas Schools

CTB/McGraw-Hill, the nation's leading provider of assessment solutions, today announced that it has received new contract awards for work in the states of Arizona, Massachusetts, New York, North Dakota, and Ohio.
In addition, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) awarded CTB the contract to administer its U.S. History end-of-course assessment. The assessment will be administered online to all students enrolled in U.S. History within DoDEA's Department of Defense Dependents Schools and Domestic Elementary and Secondary Schools.
The state contract awards, received since January, total $112.5 million. The contracts for each state span the following years: Arizona, 2004 - 2009; Massachusetts, 2004 - 2008; New York, 2004 - 2009; North Dakota, 2004 - 2007; Ohio, 2004 - 2009. These awards are in addition to the contracts CTB currently serves, creating a total of 22 state contracts as well as a contract with the District of Columbia.
CTB's i-know® online assessment product was adopted as a component of the Texas Immersion Pilot program. This program places hardware, software, online instructional resources, professional development emphasizing effective technology integration, and technical support packages into schools throughout the state. CTB's i-know product is nested within four of the five technology immersion packages that will be implemented in approximately 30 middle-schools serving grades 6-8.
