CTB/McGraw-Hill, the nation's leading provider of assessment solutions, has announced the release of updated versions of the popular TABE-PC for Windows and TestMate TABE software systems. These new versions offer enhanced administration, scoring, and data management tools for the latest edition of the Tests of Adult Basic Education -- TABE 9&10.

The updated TABE-PC helps educators administer, score, and report test results of TABE 9&10 test automatically on a Windows-based personal computer. The software automates the most time-consuming aspects of testing for instructors.

"We are pleased to offer this update to our popular Windows-based test management software for TABE 9&10. The well-known and widely used Tests of Adult Basic Education provide comprehensive and reliable information to ensure that adult students can be successful in today's society. The new TABE software helps adult education teachers administer and score the new TABE 9&10 tests with greater ease and efficiency," said David Taggart president of CTB/McGraw-Hill.

  TABE-PC:

-- Handles all aspects of the test administration process -- from
orienting the test taker and locating the correct test level, to
      scoring and reporting test results.
-- Provides fast, accurate scoring, virtually eliminating human errors
      associated with hand-scoring.
-- Generates reports that translate TABE scores into estimated scores
indicating how students will perform on the 2002 GED. This helps
teachers target instruction and raise student scores.

The new version of TestMate TABE 9&10 for Windows allows teachers to include paper-and-pencil TABE 9&10 tests using the latest scanning technology. It helps teachers:

-- Report and compare test results on individual student and group
      performance
-- Efficiently manage student data and test results
-- Aggregate or disaggregate test results by student group and compare
      results across groups
-- Monitor and report student progress over time to satisfy the national
reporting requirements of the Federal Workforce Initiative Act

Both TABE-PC and TestMate TABE operate with the latest Microsoft Windows® operating systems and both now share a common database -- allowing the seamless exchange and sharing of student information between the two systems.
