CTB/McGraw-Hill, the nation's leading provider of educational assessment products, today announced it has expanded its innovative i-know™ online assessment system to include the content areas of language arts, science, and social studies in grades 3-8, in addition to the areas of reading and mathematics already available.

Launched in the fall of 2002, the i-know system offers teachers more time for teaching and more useful data to target and individualize instruction. Teachers can use the existing i-know tests or can create their own tests from item banks to match curriculum and state standards. Additional multiple-choice items have been added, and constructed response items will also be available.

The i-know system scores tests instantly and provides a variety of individual student and classroom reports. The i-know architecture is fully scalable, and provides compatibility across both PC and Mac platforms, allowing CTB to build a fully integrated suite of online assessment products. This solution provides a foundation for building web-based applications that share information and deliver services at Internet volume and speed.

CTB/McGraw-Hill also recently launched i-know Progress™, an innovative web-based longitudinal student achievement tracking system. i-know Progress provides an easy to use, fast, and cost-effective way to meet state, district, and classroom longitudinal data requirements with individual student and summary reports. The system allows data to be aggregated and disaggregated to meet the federal adequate yearly progress requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. i-know Progress can report on any custom assessments, any third-party assessments, and CTB's achievement tests including TerraNova; TerraNova, the Second Edition; and i-know online assessments.

Both products will debut in live online demonstrations at the National Educational Computing Conference in Seattle, Washington, on June 30-July 2.
